"We were drawn to the Castaneda because of its Harvey House history. The check in process was simple, and our room was changed from a suite with two beds to one with a sitting room, the Harvey Suite, because my husband and I were traveling alone. Nothing about this stay fell short of my hopes. In fact, we experienced far more than we anticipated and left with a deeper appreciation for Fred Harvey, the Harvey Girls, and the people who spent so much time and effort reviving the place and keeping the high level of hospitality alive. Do not skip eating at the restaurant and/or bar. The chef is amazing, and our breakfast experience was honestly "the moment" during our trip because of him. From check in to check out, the hospitality shined, and I feel Mr. Harvey would smile seeing his legacy live on there. We had thought this may be a one -time trip, but this hotel in itself makes me want to return."
