"We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. We had the beautiful loft room overlooking the canal.it was even better than the photos. The room was spotlessly clean. Every morning we enjoyed the complimentary coffee. The staff was wonderful and we loved the quiet walks along the canals to get to the center of town (about 15 mins). We would definitely stay again."

"Nicely designed room and bathroom and very spacious. The kitchette was lacking in amenities to be able to use it for proper meals (no toaster, limited cutlery/pans etc). Hotel is staffless and you get the key sent to your phone to enter the main entrance and room (requires internet), this was fine for us. The hotel is a great location, right in the middle of Leiden centre."

Fortunately from prior reviews I knew that the virtual check in system often does not recognize your confirmation number so I was prepared for that; because I was checking in near the first available time there actually was a staff person present to help. But when I needed something for my room, I had to send a message through Expedia to get a response. "Overall a very clean and centrally located hotel. Don’t book two twins. Even if it says twin beds, you will get a king. My only negative about this property."

"We arrived late so no reception but instructions were clear to get to room. Unfortunately the hotel and room smell like a barn but u get used to it. We woke up early to a ton of seagulls attacking the garbage bags for a few hours starting at 4:3am that was in bags just beside the hotel. I don’t know if I would rush back to this place. But the breakfast and receptionist at Rembrandt were good and the location is nice (other than being beside two big garbage bins) Thanks."

"There was false advertising. The pictures on Expedia showed something very very different. The bathroom sink was ridiculously small and narrow and the little shelf above it was placed in such a manner that it was impossible to brush your teeth without spilling on the floor. The staff was unhelpful we we complained about the false advertisement. They put the onus on Expedia, without showing any sense of liability themselves. Perhaps that is considered good customer service in Europe, but...
