Wonderful stay at a place with atmosphere

This is one of my favourite places near Robertson. Beautiful setting with a little pond you can overlook from the bar. In the evening phantastic atmosphere and vwry peaceful. Also the staff very friendly and I received an excellent breakfast. Had been here before when it still was Rosendal Winery. Now new owners who have some excellent ideas how to develop the place. I really enjoyed the discussion with them. Hope to come back one day and see the further development

Acceptable but room for improvement

Lovely location and setting and welcoming staff but that’s where the positives ended. Room was a disappointment; fire place but no wood for it, no heater and air con did not heat room room so we were cold. Shower was in the room and did not have a shower door so shower flooded the room and walkway to the main reception area was uneven and poorly lit. Pity as could be a great hotel.

Great stay at the Lab Robertson - nice connected room with jacuzzi and a big pool at the center of the hotel. Excellent breakfast and good service. Not too impressed by dinner though - I had salmon linguine and apart from the name, I did not find any salmon worth mentioning in those. Overall good experience

The Staff were all very friendly, and wo The Staff were all very friendly, and would always check you had everything you needed, The owner was extremely helpful during my stay, helping my elderly mother to walk in areas where she needed help, and always checking us if we needed help with anything. This place is much more beautiful than the pics on the internet. The eating area is bright and airy, and not enclosed, which helps during these trying times. Each room has its own private Jacuzzi. I will definitely recommend it, and I will go back.

Wir kamen in Erwartung des wunderschönen stilvoll eingerichteten gemütlichen kleinen Weingutes das das Hotel vor 5 Jahren war. Die neuen Besitzer, fraglos sehr nett, haben diesem wunderschön gelegenen Platz leider einen Großteil seines Charmes genommen, Alles ist weiß, kahl und versprüht in etwa den Charme eine Motel One. Es gibt kaum Ablageflächen. Ein paar schöne alte Holzmöbel sind noch vorhanden, schaffen es aber nicht dem Zimmer Atmosphäre zu verleihen. In den Zimmern regiert Alexa. Sicherlich ist das Geschmackssache, denn man liest ja auch in anderen Bewertungen, dass das ganz toll sein soll. Wir persönlich fanden es eher nervtötend, Alexa versteht keine Dialekte und wenn man den Englischen nicht mächtig ist, kann man das System kaum bedienen. Es gibt zwar eine Liste mit Befehlen, die nützt einem allerdings nichts wenn es nachts dunkel ist und ich das Licht nur mit Alexa einschalten kann um die Befehle zu lesen... Auch hört man seine Zimmernachbarn deutlich bei ihren mehr oder weniger glücklichen Alexa Bedien - Versuchen. Leider ist es auch nicht besonders sauber, was eventuell dem noch vorhandenen Baustaub geschuldet ist, aber das sollte in einem 4* Hotel anders aussehen, auch die Auflagen am Pool sind dreckig und der Restaurantbereich müsste gepflegter sein. Das Abendessen ist nicht gut und zum Frühstück gibt es Dosenobst. Der Pool und die Aussicht sind allerdings sehr schön und das Personal sehr nett und bemüht. Insgesamt kein 4* Niveau und im Vergleich zu teuer

Great place to stay for peace and quiet

The first impression was good, we were welcomed and shown to our room with a smile. The accommodation was clean and comfortable especially the electric blanket as the evenings were cold.The pool looked awesome and the grounds well kept. Beatrice who looked after us at meal times and for the wine & chocolate pairing was awesome that we left her a tip (we hope she got it). My wife had a massage which she enjoyed. Our only criticism is that wine tasting should be more than a tablespoon of wine, never had such a small amount before. The General Manager was on leave and so on a few occasions the staff were a little noisy.

Unusual hotel set in a winery

Delightful views across the valley and a comfortable room if slightly unusual. If you are looking for a quiet relaxing stay this is the place for you. Very helpful staff. Enjoy their wine whilst sitting on the balcony enjoying the peace

Ups and doens

Our hosts didn't know about our booking- an Expedia first. Just happened to see us when we booked in or we would have been stranded. Kitchen was closed on a Friday night. When we asked for a vegetarian breakfast option, the staff thought we were crazy - they had never heard of such a thing! Could not even make a pla. So disappointed
