The villa we were assigned to was on the Crest lot and not Villa at the Palms. The villa was clean and bright. There was a pool close to the property's entrance along with an open gym. "I brought my 2 autistic children and they absolutely loved the waterpark. I really liked the indoor playground and the fact that I could leave my children in the care of staff for a couple of hours each day to be able to enjoy some adulting time on the resort. There was something for everyone to eat at the buffet. Quality if the food and drinks were above my expectations. The staff for the evening entertainment made the shows educational along with moments of laughter. Most of the staff were friendly. The beach was absolutely amazing. Lots of pools to choose from. I could usually find a chair to sit on at the pool. The downside to this resort is that the rooms are a lengthy walking distance to the main hub. The other downside to this resort is at the lobby to this resort as this was a bit congested with too many people upon arrival. My children had traveled several hours and have disabilities so because they struggle with long day of travelling to then having to wait in a lengthy lineup to checking in, they were having behaviours. They had to be present inordor to have the riu wristband on their wrists. When a lot of people arrive to checkin, luggage is everywhere and the rooms weren't ready by the stated time of 3 pm. I had to place stickers with my room number on my luggage and leave it unsecured in the lobby until my room was ready as there was not a designated room to store luggage securely. This is why I did not give this resort a 5 star rating."
