"The hotel is an older building, but the owners have cleaned it out and give it a more modern appearance. The facility was clean. It was a very reasonable price given the price of other hotels in town. There initially was a little road noise early in the evening, but that went away by about 8 o’clock. I would gladly recommend this hotel and plan on staying there again the next time I’m in town."

"We enjoyed our stay at Sands. It is our go to place to stay in SLO. The staff is always very friendly. We enjoy the clean rooms, the coffee and morning breakfast. Location is less than a mile to the Cal Poly campus in one direction and the downtown shops and restaurants in the other. Highly recommend as an affordable option to many of the other places that are similar for a much higher cost."

"This was one of the worst places I've stayed. The first room we were given wasn't fully cleaned. The door was open when we went to it, no towels, clearly wasn't finished. The second room we were given had fresh bedding and towels, but was still bad. The bed was very uncomfortable. The floors were coming up so bad it would be impossible to clean them. Paint peeling on the walls. Etc. At 7:30 Sunday morning the office and breakfast area were still closed. Nobody around. If it wasn't...
