"Amazing resort and even more amazing staff! The property is gorgeous and lush. It has its own hanging bridge, nature walking trail, and frog and butterfly sanctuary. The buildings are spread out but shuttles/golf carts are available 24/7 to take you to and from various places in the resort. The pool is lovely, with a large warmed area where the swim up bar is located. The restaurant and hotel food is delicious! I would 100% stay here again!"

"The location and property are absolutely beautiful! Incredible views! The grounds are kept meticulously! The rooms are clean and neat. The rooms are simple and yet elegant at the same time. The staff were very forgiving of my limited Spanish. A little harder to get to but worth the drive. The restaurant on property was excellent. Just a small sidenote… There was no air conditioner in my smaller room. I knew this going into it and the nice breeze that was almost constant."

"Lovely self sustaining eco resort in the midst of the forest. We loved the food, the coziness of the cabin, the yoga classes, and wandering around the property. The farm tour and the night tour were fun activities to do with a 4 year old. We did not like: occasional smell of sewage around the property, especially around the pools. Dated bathrooms in cabins - needs a refresh. Construction noise around the property. "

"This property is stunningly beautiful. All staff were so kind and helpful! We had our teenage daughters with us, I dont think it is the best place for kids - little to do overall. But we had a nice time. We did the ficus excursion and though it was pricey, it was fantastic! Everyone was very helpful and the food and drinks, though pricey, were delish! Highly recommend, especially for a couple. We did stay in the main lodge under the dining area - the downfall there was the noise from the chairs...

"Really enjoyed our stay here! One of our favorite places we stayed at! The fire pit and the views were stunning! We got some beautiful photos. The server in the restaurant I forget his name but he was wonderful as well. We also did the avocado trail and it was nice but we went a little late so it started getting dark. Def recommend doing it earlier in the day. Overall, very clean and friendly staff. Recommend!"

"My daughter and I enjoyed 6 nights at El Sol and felt as if we had truly discovered the “heart” of Costa Rica. The staff were friendly and there to help with anything we might need. Nature was all around us, and occasionally in the cabin with us! The property is well kept. Infinity pool and sunsets gorgeous! There is no actual restaurant on site, but they offer a delicious breakfast and dinner menu that guests can have delivered to their cabin. This was the perfect start to our first visit to...

"Gorgeous location and views from both the room and the restaurant. The hiking trails are very nice and well maintained. Recommend doing the night walk! The staff are also incredibly helpful and will help you with the best options for booking tours in Monteverde."

"The view and the owner/hostess made our stay! The personal attention at breakfast was delightful. This feels more like renting a villa with a morning chef than like a hotel. There are a couple good restaurants at the bottom of the hill for dinner. The drive to La Fortuna is 30 minutes. Be aware there is no air conditioning. There are windows with screens on 3 sides of the villa so the breeze is nice. In the morning you’ll hear a beautiful symphony of birds. I would stay here again."
