"I loved having a room with an outdoor space, and it's wonderful that this hotel is completely pet-friendly. When my dog was afraid to go on the elevator, Adam at the front desk helpfully moved me to a first-floor room. The hotel has its own private beach access, and the pool area is very nice, with plenty of options for kids and adults. I forgot my beach chair, but they work with a vendor that provides beach chairs and umbrellas and lets you charge them to your room, so you don't have to carry cash or your wallet to the beach. My one minor complaint is that the ceiling fans need to be cleaned regularly. In both rooms I stayed in, they were caked in dust, but it was nice to have a ceiling fan to keep the air moving."
"When we arrived the lobby smelled of BO. The carpeting in the hallways was disgusting. The second floor smelled like weed. The room was disgusting, I didn’t even take my socks and shoes off. The linens looked clean but the bed was so hard and uncomfortable! I almost just slept in my car."
"Fridge didn’t stay cold had to wait for towels didn’t get much sleep cause of the noise above me all night long housekeeping was great and so was the breakfast"
"The staff were friendly, efficient and responded quickly to any issues. The pool was amazing, very clean as was the hot tub. My complaint is with the entry/exit doors on the North building. Between the wind and occupants not closing the doors gently, all you heard up until midnight was the slamming of those doors. It was very loud and kept us up most of the night. We reserved 2 rooms for our party of 4, thinking they would be next to each other but that was not the case. One room only had 1 chair with a small table. The other room had 2. A stairway down to the beach would definitely better serve the elderly and out of shape guests. That hill was a hard climb. We had a good time despite a few hiccups but I think we will rent a house next visit."
"The room was clean, but the Roku was difficult to navigate, and the bathroom, while handicap accessible, has no shelving for toiletries. No place to put razor, shampoo, body wash, etc. The walls were bare of decor and everything was in shades of gray. As it rained almost the entire time we were there, it was depressing. Why not paint the rooms in lighter blues, warmer peach tones, soft yellow? Absolutely have blackout curtains for sleeping, but when people are up, and stuck indoors, they like a little cheer. As for the staff, when we visited in the early 2000s, the reception desk was helpful and gave good recommendations. This time, my husband was met with blank stares...
It was actually housekeeping who went out of their way to help us with little things like towels and pillows. They were very sweet and approachable when I saw them on their cleaning rounds. We would probably stay there again, but would book earlier for a room with a view of the water."
