"The setting is beautiful and the staff amazing. We took our 2 Spaniels with us and stayed in a dog friendly suite. Room was huge and surprisingly warm considering it was a converted Castle. Breakfast in the morning was decent and you are within 25 mins of York. All in all a great trip and we will 100% stay here again. "

The ‘pub’ on site was great, good menu and attentive staff. Breakfast was excellent- the ‘senior gent’ working there is a fabulous asset and really went out of his way to make everything perfect. "Tried this hotel for the first time. This charming and comfortable hotel, sensitively evolved from a historic town house into a modern hotel with period atmosphere. Was well worth the visit. The hotel has accessible rooms which complied with our specific requirements. Well designed rooms with regulation fixtures and fittings but with an old world feel. The accessible rooms front onto a small attractive courtyard. Staff are excellent. Food is excellent although only breakfasts are served at this...
