"Small rooms, but comfortable and right across from the Scott Monument. Walking distance from Edinburgh Castle, and all other local attractions. Due to its location right on a very busy street, it was almost impossible to find an area to park and offload our luggage for check in. Had to park illegally for about 20 minutes (after circling around for 20 minutes) just to drop our stuff off and check in. Actual parking garage I used was a 10 minute walk away. "**Review:** We had an amazing stay at this hotel with Laura as our wonderful host. The location was perfectly situated in New Town, with everything comfortably close and within walking distance. On our first day, the hosts kindly circled must-visit areas on the map, making it easy for us to explore, even with our 5-year-old. "The hotel is beautiful inside . My room was lovely and spotless . The hotel was clean . Most of staff at checkout are task oriented and their attitude does not reflect the level of service I’d expect in this prestige hotel therefore I will never be back . Also a hammering noise at 10 pm that went on for a good twenty mins wasn’t welcome . The waiting staff were very polite and friendly unlike the reception staff . "

"The hotel boasts the best location for tourists among branded hotels in Royal Mile Edinburgh. We took a three-day hiking trip to Loch Ness and came back at 6pm. The drop-off point at Lawnmarket is just 2 minutes walking from the hotel, so that we still had a lot of time in early evening to revisit the Edinburgh old town center. On the second day, we had to take an early flight back to Seattle, and the airlink stop to the airport was just 10 minutes walking from the hotel. "

"This is a nice hotel overall. The bed was comfortable, and the room was clean. There was no desk, microwave, or a true refrigerator. There was plenty of hot water. Our biggest complaint was our room was hot and there is no air conditioning. We did open the windows and that help some. The restaurant and bar have the same menu. There are not a lot of selections and there are no other restaurants nearby. "
