"We really enjoyed staying at The Duke Williams. The staff were extremely kind and helpful, the included breakfast was delightful (really loved the blueberry pancakes!), and we loved how close it was to the Cathedral and castle. "Expedia should be ashamed to charge for accommodation in what was a hostel for vagrants. During the period that access was unavailable to us, a neighbour told us that the Hamilton was used to house council-sent people, and we saw three such unfortunate people waiting to enter. My wife was frightened by the property when access was eventually gained, describing it as being like her idea of a prison, and I found it forbidding and inhospitable. "Great location. Ideal location for Southwell racecourse. 15 minute leisurely stroll to the racecourse from the accommodation. Our overnight stay was great from start to finish - easy check in, free car parking, clean tidy and comfortable room. Bathroom, including shower, was clean and modern. The sink was on the small side. Good value for money."
