"I paid upfront as package for breakfast and first day it's was everything included that was fine as it's already paid but 2nd day they started asking for money and didn't tell anything before breakfast and charged me 65$ for breakfast. It was so frustrating before paying everything also get charged. Expedia should look on this before booking confirm everything."

"First off I was told I could check in early, so I showed up, front desk lady said go down to the beach and we will call, after a few hours they never called, after 3pm room still wasn’t ready. At about 4 pm room was finally ready. I paid in advance so when I went to fill out all my paperwork, she said that they had to have a deposit on file for a $40 A night room. That was no where in the fine print. Staff was very rude and hotel was not maintained"

"This is a one star motel with a five star view. Run down and minimum maintenance. You are getting what you pay for: flickering light in the kitchen, low water pressure in the shower, rusty lamps with broken shades, stains on the furniture, graffiti in the elevator, guy vaping pot in the lobby at check-in. Staff ignored us when we first entered, then after standing there awkwardly for 10-minutes asked if we were there to check-in. They can’t say your room number aloud for safety reasons. Our reservation was for 5-nights but we only stayed one."

Hampton Inn & Suites Myrtle Beach/Oceanfront

10/10 Excellent

"All staff were nice, helpful and went out of their way to make sure our stay was enjoyable. Breakfast has an excellent variety of food; somethinf for everyone's taste and dietary choices. Ready to drink coffe and tea at all times. Check in/out was quick and efficient. Didn't try the restaurant, cannot comment on that. However, there's is a parking fee of $29 per night. That adds up depending how long you stay. Nice variety of seating areas around the pools. One annoyance was constant helicopters circling around as the scenic helicopter rides location is nearby. We didn't mind it but some people did. Would stay there again."

"We were very pleased with our stay. The Grand Atlantic was very family friendly,. The pool , lazy river all fantastic and the grandkids had a great time. We would recommend this place to everyone looking to stay in the Myrtle beach area. And thanks to Expedia for giving us a discount from a previous bad booking experience"

"If you book through a third party be sure your dates are not going to change. I tried to change via Expedia and the resort itself, and it was going to cost me over $300 so triple check you can make the dates before booking. Also, if you prepay for a night, bring that specific credit card with you as they ask for it during check in. Bring your patience. Check is long and complicated. I would also bring a pool towel. I saw some people find where they were kept, but not until the last day of my trip. The food at the resort was good and reasonable priced. This was a nice surprise. Other reviewers mentioned the smell of pot. I did get that around the entrance and the pool but not near my room and it wasn't as bad as I was fearing. This is an old building, so you are not going to get a super large space or a super modern space. Some of the electrical plugs would not hold the cord in, it would just fall out. There were spots on the ceiling and just the normal wear and tear you see at an older place. It was clean so it wasn't an issue for me. You do not get housekeeping for a weekend stay. They will bring up more towels but if you are expecting daily trash removal and a made bed, this is not the place for you. I enjoyed my stay. The staff was friendly and it doesn't get old sitting in a hot tub looking at the ocean. This is not a five-star resort and you are not paying five-star pricing. It very much is what you expect for the price point. All in all, a nice place."
