"Elm tree cottage was the best stay I’ve had in Yorkshire , I visit often and by far the best place I’ve stayed the hosts were lovely and kind and was great to chat too! The location was perfect in a cute little village on a farm close to Thirsk and an easy drive to York. Providing the essentials for cooking and a cozy little cottage too! Would definitely recommend and look forward to returning in the future! "

"Last minute booking as decided to stay overnight in York. Communication for check in was quick, property was easy to find, close to town and super clean and tidy. Had a relaxing stay and would definitely consider again next time we were in York. Small supermarket and Mrs Greedy’s at end of road was excellent for supplies and a quick cooked breakfast. "

"We rather liked Kemps Yard, which must be fairly new to the listing. Very convenient for Thirsk town, quietly hidden away from the main road, and clean and cosy. Parking in the yard is almost impossible, although the neighbour is an expert at manoeuvring his pickup down the lane! The visitor's permit lets you park on the road and saves you from endangering your vehicle, but you may get your step count up while you unload. We were ok with the cobbled lane, but it wouldn't be so good for those...

"Location worked well for us. Small room with en-suite. Out the back for a country pub. Ample parking nearby. Room not great at keeping noise out - could hear footsteps overhead from residents upstairs and voices carried across the count yard late at night. As it was warm needed to windows open so more easily disturbed by noise. The bed was super creaky too, which was annoying and disturbing in the dead of night! "Very nice clean apartment, had everything we needed. It is small but would be perfect for a couple. We managed as a family of 4 and its in a great location not far from York. Bed is super comfy. We had a lovely time."
