"Three nights this June for a softball tournament — about $800 during a busy event, so not a budget stay. Property and grounds immaculate; our ground-floor two-queen room was spacious and steps from RedRossa Italian Grille (solid bar and portions). Three misses, all raised with the desk:
Housekeeping: A mirror notice says rooms aren’t cleaned unless you alert the desk before 9 a.m., no exceptions — disclosed, but needlessly rigid.
Breakfast: Decent the morning I went, but no better than any business hotel despite the hype — three hot items, premade biscuits, prepackaged oatmeal, coffee but nothing milk-based. My partner’s last morning was worse: by 7:25 the spread was picked over, no clean bowls or cups, no staff in sight; someone finally brought three bowls, no cups, said nothing, dispenser empty.
Shuttle: Listings advertise a 24-hour airport shuttle but don’t note you must give 24 hours’ notice. The clerk admitted one was already running my flight’s crew but wouldn’t let me join — her manager never called back. She offered to call a taxi but not to cover it (rideshare ~$34 for an 8-minute trip). At ~$267/night, comping a short cab for a stranded guest should’ve been automatic. Instead we were up at 5 a.m., walking past the crew, driver, and van.
The bones are good — clean, comfortable rooms in a handy spot. But a weak breakfast, a rigid housekeeping rule, and refusing a $34 cab on an $800 stay add up to a real miss. Pay for the taxi and I’m at four stars."
"Mine was an overnight stay, so I didn't look into anything beyond bed (excellent), TV (excellent) and bathroom (clean and bright) with a shower I could have stayed all day in (right temperature, continual hot water, and a perfect shower head).
The room was clean and well lit. Although it's not typically a ine nighter (more for longer stays), it worked out petfectly for me. With my late arrival, I could have easily slept for a few more hours. Take your key folder to the Perkins next door and get 10% off your bill there."
"Don't let the outside fool you. The rooms are clean and newly remodeled. Our room was dusty on the floor but it just got ready for us at 8:30 or so in the evening. They are remodeling the entire motel. We had new everything. Sink, faucet, mirror, windows, window coverings, beautiful artwork on the wall. Beds were very comfortable. Fridge worked fantastic. Wonderful hot breakfast with a hard working attendant on duty. The bathtub like most motels tubs was very slippery. I slipped back in 2013 at another motel and broke a collarbone so I really wish all motels would automatically put a cheap rubber bath mat in each room. I carry my own! Once they update the outside paint (which they should if it's not in the plans) this will be a great location. Cheapest place in Pierre so it was surprisingly updated inside"
"The roll in shower with the safety handles made the weekend for me. The room was large enough I could invite friends and family over to watch tv and visit with. Thank you. I will remember this room the next time I am in Pierre."
"Property was very well kept. Nice green lawn outside with no weeds. Clean pool and hot tub. Breakfast area was also very clean. Even RIP the piranha had a clean aquarium to swim in."
