"Room was clean, staff friendly, breakfast was alright, some dishes were empty when we got there and were still empty 15 minutes later. Parking was fine except I don’t believe we should have to pay for parking!! You spend an outrageous amount on the room, parking should not be an extra charge!!"

"This was my second stay at this property. My previous stay was with the former owners of No 5 East and it is lovely to see this 126 year old home being renovated/spruced up. This property is so convenient to downtown Winnipeg and is in a lovely residential area backing on the river. "Rooms were fine and location was okay. It's quite convenient if you're arriving or departing by VIA Rail, as Union Station is just a block or two away. The breakfast is a bit hit and miss but overall pretty good. Cereals, yogurt, canned fruit cocktail and plenty of bread options including English muffins. There are hot choices each morning but only two, which leads to some odd combinations. One morning the hot breakfast options consisted of just hashbrowns and bacon -- no eggs. The next day...

"we were initially put into their worst room im sure. it had torn curtains, dirty floors, workmen tools in the bathroom and wood dust even on the toilet seat, dusty shoe prints on the seat bench, peeled desk-chair, dried spill marks on furniture, gum on sofa... it was unbelievable! i was so upset. My husband spoke with them and they instantly apologized and gave us a very clean room with none of the problems. i felt very disrespected and profiled (I am African-Canadian). "

"We love this hotel! It feels smaller and very service oriented. The staff were amazing! The Gold service was absolutely excellent with a wonderful breakfast each day and friendly and professional Concierge. The location of the Fairmont Winnipeg is also perfect for all sorts of walking or exploring cafes, bars and restaurants in the Exchange District. Love it!"

"Hotel was being used as a housing unit for some misplaced individuals. We thought it would be fine so we proceeded with our stay at the hotel only to arrive and immediately ask that we be switched to a new hotel. Floors 1-9 were FULL, consequently could not use any of the amenities they had to offer us. We were escorted even in the elevators by security with random people running in and out of the building a very unsettling experience. Area around the hotel was not nice either. "

"Nice, clean, quiet. Room was spacious, perfect for the family with a full kitchen. Didn’t feel squished as you would in a typical hotel rooms, or even some “suites” that are cramped with a small kitchenette. Lots of shopping options around. Staff were friendly. Nice to have a pool on site. Great stay overall."
