We have often stayed for the last 22 years. Although I was eventually credited back the charge, I was quite dismayed to find that I was charged an additional night. When I called about the charge, the manager said that I had called and asked to have the room back. They said I had shown my ID to get a new room key and she also stated that I had left suitcases in the room which she had found when she did a room check. It took multiple phone calls and finally an email to Drury corporate before receiving the credit back. Although I had turned the keys in which was acknowledged by the desk clerk, I did not ask for a receipt. The manager stated I had not properly checked out and someone in my party had stayed. Since it was just myself and my husband and we had continued our trip to Kentucky, I knew no one in my party had stayed nor had I called to ask for the room that night. I had not shown the manager my ID for a new key nor had we left suitcases in the room. (We use soft travel overnight bags.)
We had always been very satisfied with our time spent at this Drury location. Although corporate did credit my charge card, the whole experience of being accused of doing stuff that I hadn’t done was an unpleasant experience. I’m not sure we will ever be able to stay at that Drury location again. I did learn that I will always require a receipt when checking out of Drury.
