We spent four nights at the Shangri-La and really enjoyed it. The hotel is centrally located just a few minutes' walk from an MRT station and one of Taipei's better night markets. Complimentary shuttle service is helpful since it is farther than other hotels from the MRT. Good stay despite renovation.
