"Overall, our stay at the Holiday Inn Express was a mixed experience. The room was good, although the TV was definitely outdated. The breakfast was delicious, but during a busy weekend it seemed like the hotel was short-staffed. They had a hard time keeping up with the demand for breakfast items and even keeping enough towels available. The shower had great water pressure, which was a plus, but unfortunately the drain was very slow. While I was taking my shower, the water continued to build up around my feet, leaving me standing in several inches of water. I almost slipped, which was concerning and could have resulted in a serious injury. This is definitely something that should be addressed for guest safety. The biggest issue for me was the bed—it was hard as a rock and made it difficult to get a good night’s sleep. The most disappointing part, however, was the billing. At check-in, I was told there would be a $50 incidental hold, which I completely understood. However, after checking out, my card was charged again for the exact amount of my stay. When I questioned it, I was told the original charge was only a hold and would disappear within five days. I feel this should have been explained much more clearly at check-in because seeing another charge after checking out was concerning and confusing.
