"The room was spacious and had a comfortable bed, but twice we found long black hair that wasn’t ours on a pillow and the comforter. Our towels had rips in them. One of the bedside lamps had a burned out bulb, and when I went down to the desk to ask for a replacement, there was no one there for a long period of time. I eventually gave up. The alarm on the old-fashioned clock radio in the room surprised us by going off super early in the morning. The lobby and hallways had a weird disinfectant...

"Staff were pleasant and helpful. I selected this hotel because it advertised a restaurant onsite. It does not.
Breakfast is self-service like most restaurants, but there is NOT a restaurant.
There is what looks like a bar with hours posted, but it wasn't open once. I even confirmed with hotel staff. There is no restaurant on site."

"I told the front desk staff that we were very sensitive to noise and the lady at front desk gave me the room on the first floor right next to the public bathrooms. I asked whether this was going to be quiet, and she reassured me and said yes.
People were using that bathroom since 6:30 am, and I could hear everything.
Maybe it was my fault for trusting her but please maybe just be a little more thoughtful next time. Btw, there were other rooms available.
Also breakfast eggs tasted funky. "

"The property had friendly and professional staff. The hotel was clean and updated. The breakfast was good. We travelled to the area for a concert at UVA. I was concerned about the distance of the hotel from the venue, but it was an easy drive and had several exits in between with plenty of restaurant and shopping options. "The only item we did not like was that when taking a bath or shower the water was not hot enough. During a shower the water went completely cold. Probably an easy fix for the property. "I always have great experiences at Holiday *nn Express. Room was clean and well maintained. Staff was super nice and accommodating.
