"This is a fantastic hotel right in the heart of Cardiff and just a quick walk to so many bars, cafes, shops and the Castle. Our room was so lovely. It had a very funky vibe and was beautiful decorated, clean and comfortable. We loved it! The community lounge and deck was also a great addition giving you access to a great hang out area. "Perfect location for Train station and shopping . Loved our stay at The Park Gate staff were very welcoming at reception especially Richard . Huge comfortable bed and complimentary Prosecco brought to the room to celebrate our Ruby anniversary. Room was lovely apart from the carpet which needed cleaning . Looks like children may have stayed in the room recently. Great thermal suite experience had the whole room to myself . Would definitely stay here the next time I visit Cardiff. Thank you"

"Room was large, comfortable and had everything you need for an extended stay. Contactless checkin instructions were a bit confusing but in the end I got to my room. The room was modern but could have used a deep clean. Hallways were very noisy due to a family in the neighbouring room (otherwise would probably not have been a problem). Spacious comfortable rooms, with beds that are so comfortable, sleep is no problem at all! Peaceful too. "The hotel was very nice, parking was simple. And the location was very good - the city centre was on the door step. There was Browns bar and restaurant in the hotel, and this was very good. Nice place if you wish to soak up the city centre atmosphere."

"A brilliant location within a short walking distance to the train and bus station and the Castle and other attractions. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The bedroom had a lovely comfortable bed (although a little creaky!) and the bathroom had everything you needed. The breakfast was excellent with a lot of choice."

"I booked 2 nights through a third party. There were communications issues, with payment and breakfast. We arrived late to open assigned room with people in it twice. Someone opened our room with their assigned keys our 2nd day. Staff was apologetic, but these issues should never happen. Thats said, we liked this hotel for its history, character and charm. Its like a maze in there! Breakfast was good. I hope they solve these issues. I would booke here again."

Unfortunately, it was hot & stuffy with no fan & rather noisy as it faced a busy main road (had to keep the window open due to the hot weather). The location of the hotel is good, about 15 minutes walk from the city centre."

"We had to walk up thirty stairs to the top room which was claustrophobic and the bed was very high. The toilet system was very loud. My partner couldn’t get into the shower as she is on the large size and struggled with the stairs which did not have a proper banister. We checked out two days early as she couldn’t cope with the stairs and the room and we are awaiting a refund for those two days."
