"We loved everything about Seven Oaks - parking was plentiful, room was very clean and large, restaurant was convenient and delicious - but the standout feature was the helpfulness of the staff. Aisling and Declan welcomed us in and made us immediately comfortable. Hospitality is taken seriously and we were very appreciative."

"Close to town of Carlow"

"We checked in and discovered our room didn’t have a bath, we were swapped to a room with one immediately, not a problem to the staff. The room was clean, spacious and the bathroom was also spotless. Bath and shower were separate, water pressure was fab and hot water always available no matter what time of day you were using it. Mini fridge, kettle, coffee machine with pods, hair dryer, iron and ironing board all provided. Breakfast selection was plentiful and hot food was replenished regularly....

"We lived the quietness and the fireplace for reading."

"Basic but functional room. Check in was fine but a man of few words."

"Kilkea Castle was a wonderful stay. Last minute we booked a room in the Lodges; unfortunately, the actual Castle was all booked up. This didn’t lessen the experience though. The lodge room was clean, comfortable, well-appointed and had a fairway view. We were also able to use the facilities in the castle itself. We weren’t there to golf and that was just as well as the course was closed for maintenance. As a golfer the course did look like a premium course, and I’d love to go back for...

"The room was a good size, clean, and comfortable. The Pub was full of great people and Matt was super friendly."

"This was a great place! The car park was around the back of the building with plenty of spaces. The room was clean and well maintained and the bed was comfortable. We ate in the bar restaurant and the food was delicious. Our waiter, John, gave us excellent advice on things to see and do in the area and Trish, one of the managers, went above and beyond with hospitality. I’d definitely stay here again."

"Really had a very comfortable stay. Room was comfy and a good size. The staff were incredibly helpful and the hotel passed my 'plumbing test'. The shower was fantastic."

"The Step House hotel was one of our favorite stays on our Ireland trip! We had a beautiful and spacious room that opened onto a terrace overlooking the gardens and mountains in the distance. We enjoyed a delicious dinner and breakfast in the 1808 Pub. The staff was wonderful and the extra touches like flowers and prosecco in the room made this the perfect place to celebrate our anniversary and start off our trip! We enjoyed the small town of Borris and walking the Railway trail. We hope to...

"Nice facilities, didn't care for the bunk bed in the room, not very comfortable and a bit claustrophobic."

"This place is absolutely magical! The property is enchanting, the hostess fascinating and the breakfast out of this world! The shepherd’s huts are so charming, I guess you could call it “glamping”? The one thing I would say is that my knees aren’t great and I found the steps to the huts a little tricky, so not ideal for anyone with mobility issues, but other than that it’s a 10 out of 10! I wish I could have stayed longer."

"The standard room was dark small and uncomfortable had 1 full bed and a twin it’s a a family room I don’t understand why we were assigned that room we are a couple luckily we don’t spend time in the room. Also the pictures on Expedia did not show that the standard room had this format. We complained but were told that is how all the standard rooms are. Pool area isn’t very nice small pool and there wasn’t a hot tub"

"Although we had a coffee machine and kettle in the room, there was also a fully equiped (shared) kitchen available for us to use. The breakfast was fantastic."

"This is an old building that was converted into a hotel in 2000. While other travelers contributed multiple positive reviews, I was disappointed at the antiquated bathrooms, cleanliness, and comfort considering the cost. The bathroom door, floor, and shower were dirty; the tub bathmat was rolled-up and placed in the shower soap dish; the shower curtain was filthy; the tub showed signs of water damage; the plumbing was weak and lacked siphon power. The carpet was dingy and wrinkled. From the...

"Great pub and luminous room!"
