"This small hotel is really cute. The rooms are clean, equipped and super nice! The staff was really helpful and polite. They have breakfast and they have 2 light meals during the day which were good and perfect for what they are. Really happy with the property and the experience. "We absolutely loved this hotel! Fantastic location that was out of the busyness of the main districts but in close walking proximity to convenience stores, restaurants, places for coffee and breakfast, and of course the castle and the imperial palace grounds. Great rooms - such a fantastic size for Japan, which was great for our crawling ten month old who wanted to crawl and pull himself up on everything. Staff were lovely and accommodating. We will definitely stay here again."

"There were two Japanese well maintained gardens and stone paving hallway outside. They were beautiful and they made us feel very historical culture. The summer season in Kyoto is very uncomfortable to stay outside because of the hight temperature but, in this house, for some reason we could stay comfortably without air conditioner. It was a huge house but all the rooms were cleaned perfectly. Especially we were impressed with the bathroom. The high-tech toilets beautiful wooden bath tub made us...

"We enjoyed our stay at this hotel - it was very authentic Japanese style of beds on the floor which we found surprisingly comfortable. The only glitch, which I feel compelled to mention, is the 'smoking' area that is right at the entrance by the main door of the hotel. As soon as you enter the small corridor to walk towards Reception, the smell hits you! Other than that, the hotel was good, rooms were spacious and there were nice amenities supplied. Staff only had limited English, so...

"Our stay here was the highlight of a three week vacation in Japan. It is an unique, deep immersion into Japan culture and hospitality while still being comfortable for non-Japanese. The tranquility and quality of the environment, the accommodations, and the food were exceptional. The staff were friendly, helpful, and made us feel very welcome. They savored their role as guides into the culture and traditions that they offered. While it was a very traditional experience, the facilities...
