"I rarely leave bad reviews, but my stay at Candlewood Suites Watertown was honestly very disappointing. Carla at the front desk was kind and accommodating, and she was probably the only positive part of the experience.
The room smelled terrible, like a closed unused room full of dust and mold. There were spider webs everywhere, flies inside the room, and the living room area smelled very bad, like it had not been cleaned or used properly for a long time. The curtains were broken, the windows were covered with dead flies and thick dust, and even the exhaust fan was packed with dust and dirt. It was obvious the room was not being maintained properly.
The suite setup was also inconvenient because the AC and heater were only in the living room and barely reached the bedroom. I had to leave the bedroom door open the whole time just to get airflow, which made it difficult to sleep because the room kept getting too cold or too warm.
I called the front desk to ask if they had a portable heater or fan available, but they told me they had none. Their only solution was to downgrade me into a smaller room while still charging me the same price. I was also surprised that housekeeping is only done once a week.
I ended up getting sick with severe allergies and fever symptoms. I was visiting my military partner after 6 months apart, and this experience ruined our stay. I should have taken more evidence, but the staff already knows these issues exist."
