"Carl and Christine were so welcoming. The room was excellent and very clean and comfortable. BUT we ran out of toilet roll. There was fruit, cereal and toast for breakfast and tea or coffee ad lib. Parking in the grounds. We were only here for 1 night for University Open Day but I would definitely stay here again. Unpretentious and very good value. I have a hip problem and Carl let me sit in the lounge until my wife and son were ready."

"Described as a bed and breakfast without the breakfast.
Very confusing accommodation with bathroom and toilet access or down the hall.
Greeting was interesting but beds were okay for sleeping and mainly quiet.
Pictures don't represent the rooms and expectations from advertising not met.
Would not stay again even for one night."

"Extremely disappointing and distressing experience at Somerset Cottages, Sunderland.
We booked and paid for accommodation but encountered numerous problems, including poor cleanliness, unfinished plaster and building residue, concerns about electrical socket fittings, and a shower that was unusable for approximately two days.
We also had serious fire-safety concerns, including doors that did not close properly and an apparent lack of smoke detectors.
We documented these issues with...

"I like how the informations needed by the guests to access the property were sent via email with proper guidance and direction.
Also, the technology on the door to access the property. The serenity and privacy of the home was good amongst other things.
Also the rooms are clean."

"Everything was perfect. Lovely room which was immaculately clean and well presented. Stephen and Neil were perfect hosts and clearly work really hard to ensure their guests have a lovely stay. Great location for everything in the area. We will definitely be returning in the future. Thank you!"
