The property was clean and as pictured. The hosts were lovely and even left us fruit, snacks, and fresh eggs from their hens in the fridge. The view was beautiful. The bed could be more comfortable. The location is not in walking distance to town, so you will need a taxi often if you plan to get out. The taxis are not easy to get. Have the property managers book your first one from the train. Then, use WhatsApp to call the taxi each time. Luckily, there is one restaurant in walking distance for dinner only. Please note that you must make reservations in person, but the food was great! A serene stay for 1-2 guests.

Great apartment with amazing views over Lake Como. Clean, comfortable, and had everything you need for your stay. And by clean we mean the apartment inside as well as the greenery on the yard! The only downside was the location. The views are fantastic, but Lake Como is very mountainous and getting around on foot is harder than it looks on the map. The train station is “nearby”, but the walk takes longer than expected because of the steep roads and paths. And because the railway is so close to the apartment you can hear a pretty loud noise when it goes by. So be mindful if you’re a light sleeper. Fiumelatte is a very small village with almost no services, so you’ll need to go to Varenna for “shops” (mini markets with barely any selection) and most restaurants. It’s less than 3 km away, but the walk can take close to an hour. I would definitely recommend having a car. Getting a taxi is close to impossible since there are only a few local drivers around. Freenow, Uber, Bolt etc do not work. Overall, a great place to stay if you’re looking for a peaceful, beautiful scenery, and an authentic Lake Como experience. Our hosts were incredible kind and helpful with all of the small “troubles” we had during our stay so no complaints on our side. Thank you <3
