We only stopped for a night so didn’t really use the kitchen but would be a great option if you wanted to cook your own food. Shared bathrooms were not an issue. Rated a 4 as there was no hot water so that meant no shower (fine for one night but not sure about longer) but had been emailed ahead of time and never did see any ‘caretaker’who was to have been there when we arrived but room was set up so all...

"The rooms were very hot during the summer in Iceland. We would get back from a day of hiking and the room was very hot and made it difficult to sleep. It cooled down if you left the windows and doors open but took hours to cool down. The upstairs did not cool down and was not useable. We left one day early and went back to Reykjavík because we couldn’t take it."

"Was a great last stop for us on the ring road after staying in guesthouses for a week. We had our own kitchen, laundry and bathroom and the host was very sweet, she gave us a bottle of milk from their dairy cows. They just took over the farm a couple months ago and are making a new start of it. The furnishings are very plain but clean and you have all you need with more amenities than most other places we stayed, recommended!"
