"The staff was Lovely however the room was not 100% clean as there was some hair left in the shower. They cleaned it as soon as I told them so all good. "
"We stayed for one night at Hôtel Henri IV while travelling through France. We booked due to the hotel’s high Hotels.com score, although on this occasion we struggled to understand why the rating was so high, as the property is clearly showing signs of wear and tear and needs updating.
We booked two standard double rooms, numbers 30 and 33. Facilities were inconsistent between the rooms despite them being a similar size. Room 30 had basic tea and coffee facilities, although no milk, while room 33 had none at all. The receptionist kindly offered us a coffee when we queried this, which was appreciated.
Bathrooms and bedding were generally clean, although room 33 had marks on the sheets when we arrived, which were changed immediately by staff. The team throughout our stay were polite and helpful.
Parking was convenient, with free street parking outside during our stay, plus nearby paid parking options if needed.
Overall, the hotel was acceptable for a one-night stopover, but personally I feel there are better options nearby for a similar price unless refurbishment work is carried out."
"When we first went to our room we were greeted with no soap or shampoo. We let the desk person know and they said there should have been both. When we got back to our room we found very poor quality soap and watered down shampoo in a bottle. The room and property looked far older and less well-kept than the photos in the listings online. The biggest issue however, was that we were constantly finding ants all over our room. The bathroom wasn't cleaned well. The room was tired and there was dust on many items where the ants weren't. The room opened onto a terrace area where they were cutting down shrubs. This may have driven the ants to relocate into the room. If this is the case however, it is a question of how they made their way in. We paid for three nights, but checked out after one night after we found ants crawling on the bed. The people working the desk were very nice but the property should really be closed down or at least be completely gutted and reworked."
