Everything was just OK. Food was not at all impressive but very comfortable bed and wonderful though cold pool. Overall it just felt dark and the decor made the building feel data, making the room rate seem a bit high. Room for improvement like umbrellas at the pool, usb chargers in rooms, ladder for pool, handrail for stairs, etc.

A beautiful stay!

The staff were so kind and attentive! They realized we would be arriving very early after an overnight flight and allowed us in to the room for a much needed nap. The hotel is among the most beautiful in town. The rooftop pool provided a beautiful view and a nice way to cool off! The restaurant had a wonderful menu and we enjoyed a very nice easy meal on our arrival.

Outstanding cool hotel in Vientiane! Great modern style, nestled away on a quiet street but next to all the action. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Pool and a cool Bar on the roof - great hidden hangout. Outstanding value - highly recommend

The staff was extremely helpful and answered many questions we had about sights to see and places to eat. The location was great to walk to the night market, walking street and local restaurants. Very pleasant stay, room very spacious, clean & very well appointed. All amenities included that you would need. Breakfast was great with plenty of selection to order. Coffee was the best in the city! Roof top pool was wonderful after a long day out, with the poolside bar for a refreshing drink. Would highly recommend staying here if visiting Vientiane.

Recommended boutique hotel

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel is great, lovely helpful staff. The room was fine albeit a bit gloomy due to the odd design to limit the number of lights in the room. There is a nice rooftop pool and restaurant/bar and the location is good. We walked to the central bus station to catch the 14 to the Buddha park one day and paid 100K for a tuk tuk to Pharmacy That Luang another day. Quite a few restaurants and the night market (if you like that kind of thing) are a few streets away.

The Lao Poet Hotel reception, restaurant and bar personnel are all highly professional. The receptionist especially provided us with useful and money-saving information. We stayed at the Lao Poet for 5 nights. Loved the decor and our room (610) was a good size and quiet. The location is excellent and within walking distance to key sites. There are banks to change money right down the street and several good restaurants within a few minutes. The staff were very sweet and helpful. Breakfast was very fresh. The menu isn’t huge but there is enough to keep it interesting. We stayed for dinner at the hotel one night and it was very god as well. Roof top pool/bar was great to relax after a day of walking around. Would recommend this hotel.

Great choice for Vientiane

We spent two nights at the Laos Poet at the end of a two week trip and were pleased with our choice. The staff were most attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Our room was on the 4th floor and was very comfortable with a fabulous bathroom. The room was nicely furnished although it was quite dark. We enjoyed the rooftop pool area which has a fabulous view over the city and a cozy bar and restaurant. Laos Poet is very central and we walked to most of the city’s attractions.

An amazing stay, especially given the price. My 2 nights at the Lao Poet Hotel were the best past of Vientiane. Comfortable room and a nice rooftop to enjoy the sunset. The service level began even before I arrived, the staff assisted in setting up airport pick up as well as procuring a train ticket for the next stop on my journey. I had to leave early and missed the including breakfast on my last morning but they sent me off with an exceptional breakfast box! I was thoroughly surprised at the quality when I opened it when waiting for my train. And so much fruit I shared it with monks at the station. Thank you to Zack and the whole front desk team.

the Suite was Spacious and nice decorated but on second Look Everything was in very used shape. Talking a shower in the tub flooded the room, towels were not clean and grey, aircon was very noisy….
