The hotel can boast an interesting history; on the wall in the restaurant is a wooden plaque, with a gilded list of previous head girls from 1937 when the hotel was run as a school. The beautiful stained glass windows on the staircase are evidence of the previous importance of the building. "The hotel room is very worn and in need of repair and a refresh, the bathroom needed a good clean with discoloured grout and mould on the tiles, arms on sofa worn and dirty and the windows in the room have paint peeling off. The staff are friendly but are all clearly new and have little experience to ask the questions that guests have ie not being able to get a dinner reservation when you book with a dinner credit.
