"While we did not use the kitchen it did look fully equipped. Lots of storage in the bathroom and the bed and pillow options were good. Lovely view from the room that would have benefitted from clearer skies. Beamish the black lab was a joy as was watching the chickens running around the property. Can defnitely recommend."

"Worst place we’ve ever stayed in New Zealand. It’s a cheap accommodation overall. In room 303, the heater didn’t work, the oven was broken, and the view was literally nothing. They provided cheap instant coffee, cheap utensils, a cheap mattress, and cheap pillows. The place is also isolated, with nothing around. I would not recommend it. "Spacious, beautiful location "

"Lovely warm cabin with sufficient kitchen facilities. Good shower. Towels etc replaced as required. Recycling facilities. Shopping was v ltd but we had taken supplies as prewarned. Cabin a little dated but clean and warm with friendly owners. We hope that the motel can be continued with the same ethos. "

"Sarah and Steve were very welcoming and friendly. They went out of their way to accommodate our change of plans. So it’s no surprise that this carried over to the rooms which were well stocked and comfortable. The amenities and service were great and I would recommend the Alpine Rose to anyone visiting Greymouth."
