"We always stay at a Red Roof en route to Florida every year, and then again home. We value their friendly staff, clean rooms, fair prices and great pet policies.
One thing I have realized is that not every Red Roof is the same. Many seem to be previously owned motels that were purchased and then refurbished and given a facelift by Red Roof. Because of this, you can’t expect them to always be the same as far as layout or amenities. This particular one was an older style two tiered motel, with only stairs to the second level. Our room was assigned there, and so we had to carry our crated dog up the stairs. The person on staff was extremely helpful in getting us a room closest to the staircase, but it would have been nice to know from the website that this style of motel had only a stair option. As well, the room lacked expected amenities, such as a coffee maker and hair dryer. Small things, but we do rely on them during our travels. So just good to note as a traveller to carefully read the descriptions of the rooms (if I had I would have seen there was not had dryer, etc.) for each location.
Overall, we appreciate the Red Roof for many reasons, but I don’t think we will visit this particular one again in future."
