"Hostel is quite a way out of Haarlem and next to a busy road but on arrival we discovered we had been given a room at the back facing the park - much appreciated as 4 cyclists on a cycle/touring holiday. Lovely friendly staff . Had some snacks from the bar and there was a lovely brazier to sit around in the garden . Met some friendly Dutch and Americans. Breakfast adequate for our needs ."

"Room was clean, the nostalgia of it all, and the amenities were up to par with each hostel (of the many) I've stayed in in Amsterdam. There could be a larger and cheaper option for food for those (including me) who are on a budget and/or don't want to go out nearby in the frigid cold (writing this January 24th, 2026, so.)
