"The property is clean and great beach access but unfortunately that’s all it has going for it. The property is OLD and in need of renovation. Smells stale. Tiny rooms, sink next to bed. Loud air conditioner. Extremely thin walls. I’m a heavy sleeper and was awaken several time due to noise. No elevator, not a problem for us but an elderly couple checked in at the same time and were given 2nd floor accommodations. When they mentioned they had requested 1st floor, the clerk simply said, “they gave you second.” ???? No attempt at trying to help them. Breakfast was completely disorganized with long lines. Will not stay here again. "
"While the location, physical pool area, bar and lobby were nice our room was nowhere near the expectation of a quality “resort” or even a modern hotel room. Our room looked every bit a hotel built in the 1930’s. It’s obvious the many owners and management companies over the years have never addressed how dilapidated these rooms are. Our room had old beat up furniture, couches, and cheap ill fitted curtains. The screen on the balcony was rusted and was torn. The bathroom was much worse. If you’re looking for a luxury experience, this is more like an old motel six offered up as some kind of historic resort."
"The rooms were fantastic—spacious and clean. The amenities were great. We loved having a pool, but also access to the beach from the hotel. We would definitely stay here again!"
"Parking was great but the renovation process was not completed in our suites. The microwave was vintage, Tv old and chairs and curtains aged. The saving grace was the kind and respectful staff. We’d come again but not until the Reno is completed. None the less we still had a great mini vacation. "
"Very close to everything with a view of the lighthouse (but not from our room rofl). The "breakfast" wasn't really a continental breakfast like I was expecting, just danishes etc. The parking is VERY very tight so you better be a good parker, or hope the person parking next to you is. There is a pool but we didn't use it b/c it was too chilly. This is a small area so easy to walk to anything you need to do in SSI.
The room was large and they made a little towel crab for us (like on a cruise ship) when we arrived. That was cute. The staff were all very nice. The furnishings in the room were a little worn but it didn't detract from our stay. The bathroom was enormous.
The rooms are not soundproof though. We could hear word-for-word conversations from the people in the room next to us. It was like they were sitting in the room WITH us. At least they weren't early risers...."
"Room was clean but very dated
Hot water was non-existent
I spoke to desk clerk about this and he apologized
Said he would speak to management but crickets./."
