"The staff was attentive, friendly and polite = Excellent
Our room was clean and the bed comfortable, the updated bathroom was a plus. On site parking with easy access in a nice, quiet residential neighbourhood. The hotel restaurant was convenient, however it took quite a while to place an order as it appeared short staffed."

"The guy at the desk was really rude - he seemed annoyed when I asked about things for our kids eg cots.
They bought hot water for baby’s bottle in a champagne bucket - we weren’t confident that was sanitary so didn’t use that water.
The room was cold & dusty.
We couldn’t wait to leave and will never be coming back."

"I found it deeply disturbing that some guests were permitted to sit in the foyer, lounge and breakfast room in their pyjamas and moreover, to discover that this practice is acceptable with Mercure St Helens, Merseyside. All of which made our stay an uncomfortable one."
