"The breakfast was good with good variety. The staff was helpful and polite. Unfortunately the pool hot tub were under maintenance so they were not usable. At arrival they informed us of that and offered free cancelation for that reason. "

"Staff were very friendly. Very clean, nice, updated, spacious room. Big, clean bathroom with a sliding door that doubles as a closet door. No tub in our room (not sure if all rooms are like that) but it had spacious stand up shower. Breakfast was good, with several hot food options (there was almond milk, too!). Plenty of nice seating downstairs. Nice gym with some good equipment. The ONLY thing I wasn't super happy about was the pool/spa. We went down around 9:30 and it was packed. It was a Saturday, so not surprising, but there were not enough chairs, so we left. Came back around 10:30 hoping it would be less busy (it wasn't). The hot tub was too full to try and sit in, and even if it wasn't, it looked dirty because the bubbles/foam/whatever you call it was brown (maybe a guest had on a lot of make up or lotion?) Hot tub is very small. Tried the pool (which is a good size, has a lovely design and has very nice steps) and that water was COLD. Ended up leaving again without using the pool/spa. "

"My husband and I decided to stay the night at the Grand Amway Hotel in Grand Rapids to celebrate his birthday. We selected a room on the 24th floor. The room itself was average with a typical TV, desk, chair, and king sized bed. The dimmer lights were a nice touch. Unfortunately the bathroom was a huge disappointment. The water pressure from the sink was low and it took so long for the water to heat up. The toilet required flushing three times when just flushing toilet paper because the paper would float back up. The worst part was the shower. The drain was so slow that the water from the shower rose above my ankles while showering. I had to stop my shower several times because I was worried it would overflow onto the bathroom floor. It’s hard to feel clean when water you are washing your body with is rising up over your feet and ankles. While the building itself looks impressive, our room and overall experience with the staff was disappointing. We had stayed at the Marriott across the street six months earlier and were much more impressed with the staff and room, even with being on the 3rd floor. We have no desire to revisit the Grand Amway again. "

"I was in town for a concert and chose this property across the river from the downtown core - a short walk away - as the parking was free. A free shuttle to the venue (and pick up afterwards) was a bonus as the weather was dubious. I prepaid for the breakfast buffet which was standard fare but hot and convenient. Our server was lovely. The room was clean and the decor updated. Staff were pleasant and helpful. I would stay here again without hesitation! "
