A comfortable, clean business hotel with the added advantage of an onsen on the ground floor. Conveniently located in the traditional area of Yamagata on a bus route from the station. Breakfast in the top floor restaurant was buffet style.
The room is quite small for a couple and you can hear voices from the next room..the bathroom is outdated
I think this place needs some improvements..
The location is good but is a little bit far from Yamagata Station.. Better double check the address of this hotel theres another washington hotel near to the station that we thought we booked..we approach the front desk and told us we booked on another washington hotel.. Actually theres 2 more customers on the same day thought the same thing..
Although having booked a non-smoking room there was an unpleasant smell in the entire hotel and the Room had definitely been used as a smoking room in the past. I slept with perfume on my pillow and window open as far as that was possible.
My complaint about thiese circumstances were brushed off with the argument that the Hotel was full and no possibility to change.
The duvet cover was full of stains as well on the upper as on the foot side, as I found out, they had turned sides before obviously.
The staff was not eager to explain me simple questions like bus connection etc. Although I do not expect everybody to speak perfect English, in other Hotels they used a translator device to make basic conversation possible and give the guest a feeling of service.
I had left my sign „do not disturb“on my door although I had been out and that is usualy respected, the towels etc. get placed in a bag on the door knob. Here they did this too, but had been in the room removing garbage and used towels anyway. Do not disturb means don‘t come in unless somebody tells you differently.
This was the most horrible hotel experience in a month‘s trip!
