"The Amsterdam Hotel was an extremely cost-effective option in Stamford, where the average hotel rates have skyrocketed. That said, set your expectations accordingly. This is a dated hotel with old furnishings and no frills (although the included continental breakfast was a nice extra). However, the staff is friendly and helpful, the room was spotlessly clean, and it's within walking or short drive distance from whatever you want to do in Stamford. I felt like I got my money's worth."

"With the name of the property I was surprised it was a motel. I guess I should have looked at pictures. Staff were absolutely lovely, and they did the room every single day. The continental breakfast was good. There is a 6 lane highway right behind the hotel, so it took me a night to get used to the noise. Air conditioning is good, shower is nice. But the main door up to the room has a gap so I would bet it would be cold in the winter. "
