Some amenities like the gym was only open tell 12 so couldn’t use it

"We have stayed at this hotel a few times over past 20 years or so. I believe our last time was just after a renovation and actually was quite nice then. I do not believe it has been renovated since that time (not sure of year, maybe 2009?). The room this time was just "okay". "We did not use the AC. The room was a little worn down. The room was as clean as you can get while rehabbing. Staff was friendly. Looked like they were really trying to stay open to continue the upgrades room by room. Hopefully they continue the job and make it a beautiful place to stay. "

"The only positive things about this hotel is it was super inexpensive. $62 with tax and it is right off of Hwy 55, so convenient to the Interstate. I reserved a room with a king bed but no king beds when I checked in, I found a dead bug on the dresser, and the smoke detector was laying on the bed with no battery in it!! Not safe!!
