"Quaint little place right off the River Dee in Aboyne. They have taken care to make sure you have all the modern amenities, but also retain a pub style cafe at the front of the inn. The staff were very kind, the food was amazing, and the beer was cold. I have been here almost 2 weeks and this was one of the best places I have stayed. Strongly recommend if you are passing through Aboyne. If you don’t plan on going to Aboyne, you should reconsider given the shine of this little gem…"

"We stayed three nights at the Hotel Square in Tomintoul. Although this is an older facility which could use a few updates to rugs, curtains, etc., we were very happy there. The hotel is clean, beds are super comfortable and the rooms are large and supplied with everything we needed. Breakfast was very good! Most importantly, the staff was friendly and helpful, providing great service. We had a lovely stay!"

"What a beautifully unique place to stay! We were in the Gamekeeper's bothy and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was clean and spacious and the wood stove kept us plenty warm! We never saw any red squirrels but I did see a beautiful jay that was so different from the blue jays we have in the US. I would stay here again in a minute!"

"We wanted self catering accommodation that was not isolated that we can just chill out if we want to and this fits the bill. It is an easy walk into Ballater for shops restaurants etc. very central to explore the local area and there are some great walks. The accommodation is clean and well presented and has everything you need and the owners were helpful and friendly but left you in peace. I would certainly stay again if in the area. "
