"Check-in was excellent. There was a crowd of folks(a tour group) occupying the lobby. We could barely enter. The person behind the counter recognized it immediately and motioned for us to approach and check in.
Leaving was another story. While they'll call you a cab, they don't have doorman service like most first rate hotels. This is a uniformed person that flags the cab, directs him where to stop then assists you to it. We were on our own, couldn't locate the guy, crossed the 6...

"The hotel is ok - nice palazzo - and staff nice, but the surrounding area is very dirty. It also includes streets with prostitutes, and feels somewhat unsafe.
We had to switch rooms upon our arrival as the first room we were given looked quite bad- it clearly had not been renovated for numerous years."

"The hotel is located on Garibaldi square near the train/subway station and only 15 minute taxi ride to the airport. It was a beautiful, spacious hotel and had a wonderful restaurant on the roof top where we ate a few times. We had a room facing the square and it blocked out all the street noise and light.
