"The staff were wonderful. Especially the staff near the elevators that help handicapped people like us. The hotel has an elevator system that is not handicap friendly as part of their efforts to keep the hotel room floors secure from non-hotel guests. I understand and appreciate keeping bad actors away from the rooms but not the confusion and distance people who can’t ride escalators face. The problem is that the elevators to the rooms (operable only with a room key) are on the second floor. To get from the ground floor to the second floor, there is a robust escalator which is great for everyone except those with mobility handicaps. There is a single small elevator tucked away in a long hallway and that is not easy to find when first finding it because the doors are covered in a nice Hawaiian style graphic. Since hotel check in is on the second floor, newly arriving guests have to find their own way around the escalators. After a couple of laps around the first floor shopping center, a hotel employee not only told us where the small elevator to the second elevator was, but he walked with us there. He helped a second time when we were seemingly stranded on the second floor looking for the small elevator down to the first floor. Another person helped a third time when the small elevator was out of order by taking us into an employee only area near the escalators and allowing us to use the elevators used by room maids. "Standard rooms with slant views to the beach across the street. Great pool area with restaurant attached. A nice surprise was finding out 2hr rentals for paddleboard, beach chairs and other items are included with your stay. Priced right for basic accommodation. Hotel is at far left side- away from the commercial busy area on the far right. The high only opinion is much better. Less than 1 block away from the zoo if you are traveling with kids…overall great location, great service, and well priced. I’d stay here again without hesitation "

"Pool is extremely small and was out of service for 3 days. Room was dirty, bathroom need an urgent update. Check in staff was short and not nice. Elevators out of service Parking lot was a nightmare "

"Incredible reno of the old ohana hotel. Hotel caters to various tours so the hotel was very busy. Only noticed it at the pool. Be aware that currently new hotel construction occurring across the street which is noisy and starts before 6am daily. "

"Convent location. Honestly, my kids talked about the breakfast the most. The loved the food. Eating outdoors on the patio area in the morning. That was great. Huge hit. Overall, for me, standard hotel for the area. Good marks all around. Helpful staff. Nice that they loan out boogie boards and such. We were in a small room…but that was on us. Make sure you get an appropriate sized rook for your group."
