"We arrived for a four night stay and no one offered to help with luggage or really anything. It’s was 32 Celsius and the front desk did not even have fans. They left the curtains open and no air conditioning so the room was an oven and the carpet was filthy. The window would only open one inch. No one helped us with our luggage and there are all sorts of staircases. Front desk was rude and unhelpful and we would have baked to death. We found another hotel and left, having prepaid $1200. "Older hotel with some renovated rooms (which are lovely). Great sized pool with very warm water. Changing rooms in the evening were out of shower gel and full of wet towels. Lockers had keys but no wrist bands so no easy way of storing them. The pool has selected hours that children can use it and these are currently morning or after 4pm.
Great location but the hotel doesn’t own the car park and its free parking behind the adjacent aquarium. You get a ticket from the hotel put in your window....

"Great Hotel - we'd originally booked 10 years ago but had to cancel due to a complicated pregnancy. It was lovely to have finally made it!
Location was beautiful and the staff were supportive, kind, and friendly
Room was clean, lovely bathroom
Breakfast was the slight downfall - it was plentiful, do not get me wrong - just the quality was not to the level that you would expect from the Daffodil
Would we return - YES"

"This is a fine old achool hotel, with large clean rooms, and a friendly staff. The reception rooms and bar are nice, but while we were, were totally overrun by a wedding party.
The restaurant is okay. It is adjacent tobthe reception and the dinner is acceptable, but certainly not remarkable. Everything was a little overdone. The worst was the wedding, that had a performer signing full blast in the bar, and which was so loud the waiter could barely take our dinner order. It was extremely...

"Great location for Lake District and Lancashire an on to North Yorkshire/Yorkshire Dales without the premium price. Breakfast was plentiful and staff accommodating of a large party. We were able to change our room due to an error on our part, without problem or charge. Parking was always available and accessible."
