"From the moment we arrived at the hotel, the staff were super unfriendly & not helpful. They did not make eye contact. We asked several staff members where we could find towels & they could only point towards the massive pool.
The beach is completely full of people selling things like nothing I’ve ever seen & the vendors are very aggressive in soliciting you.
The pool is extremely uninviting with cups and trash left around the pool and the bathroom unusable because it was so dirty.

"Had an amazing time at this resort - wish I stayed longer! All the staff were so kind and helpful and the included breakfast and dinner we also great.

"Gorgeous setting, incredible sunsets, friendly staff. We loved looking out from our balcony or the infinity pools onto the bioreserve jungle below. We had an upper floor room (#9) right next to a tree that regularly had birds and howler monkeys coming through. Very peaceful. Spacious room. The food and drinks are at US resort-level prices, and there are no other places to eat within a 15-minute walk, so plan accordingly. "Same menu for the entire stay, with not much variation... so-so snacks. The chicken nuggets and hamburgers were awful. Room had no view- just looking at palm trees. Did not feel welcomed at all. Everyone seemed to have a chip on their shoulder... "

"The room was wonderful and bright. The staff did an amazing job at cleaning it and keeping it fresh. the entirety of the gilded iguana staff was kind and helpful. the breakfast was delicious and there was a variety of good eat options. the whole resort was well air conditioned and we never felt hot for a second while in our room.
