"All the outdoor furniture (table and benches) on the terrace (including the wood deck) were completely covered in yellowish dusty pollen and had to be cleaned in order to be used. We sat down unknowingly and our clothes got really dirty from all the pollen. The rubber outdoor sandals were only one size and too small. I’m a womens US size 9 or 39 European size. "A really old-fashioned Japanese onsen experience like nothing else. We ate in the Japanese restaurant one night and French the other evening. The food was fantastic. Rooms were comfortable but old fashioned. I would highly recommend the room with a private onsen - we saw tanuke (Japanese raccoon dogs) approach whilst we were bathing which was a really special experience. We hiked to the ridge (5 hours return) through a beautiful forest."
