"Great hotel, very clean and good amenities (spa is a plus, with sauna and jacuzzi). My only suggestion would be to increase the internal pool and jacuzzi’s water temperature, since is was unusual cold weather for this time of the year. "

"A little disappointed with the hotel. Not sure about it's four star rating. The lobby looks spectacular but doesn't hold up to closer inspection. The leather in the armchairs is splitting and needs replacing, and the chairs in the bar are dirty at the top where people handle them. In my room there was a lot of scuffing to the furniture and the fridge needed a good clean in the trays on the door. I reported a curtain partially off it's rail three times and it wasn't fixed. "This was a nice hotel with an interesting history. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. Unfortunately we were here in the transition from their winter to summer season & it was unusually warm weather. The room was stifling as the a/c couldn’t be turned on. They did try to help us but to no avail. We did appreciate the early check-in and the great breakfast."

"The hotel is in a great location for exploring Ponta Delgada. We were very comfortable in our room with the added luxury of a small terrace with climbing vines for reading and sitting in the sun. "We had a wonderful stay here. The staff is excellent and the grounds are stunning. We really enjoyed the hot springs & thermal pool, especially being able to use them after the public hours end. Looking forward to our next visit here!"

"My flight was canceled and then canceled again due to the weather. Ended up spending an extra 5 nights in Ponta Delgada. Found the hotel via Expedia. Beautiful hotel! It looks brand new. Property is very well maintained. Rooms are very very clean. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The outdoor pool looks nice but it was too cold for a dip. The spa is very nice.
