The indoor pool was a joke—it was tiny and not really large enough to swim in. On top of that, you need to make a reservation to use the indoor pool and spa. "This property was exceptional. The grounds were stunning - there’s a reason this place is a tourist destination. We felt incredibly lucky to actually be staying here. The wonder and atmosphere of the thermal pools cannot be overstated. At night, in the warmth of the pool, if the mist isn’t too heavy, the star-gazing is fantastic. I traveled there with my 12-year-old daughter and the staff gave us an adult- and a petite, child-sized robe. She was thrilled! After a day of canyoning, coming back...

"This is a beautiful historic hotel located in a pretty and quiet square in Ponta Delgada. A quick 5-minute walk puts you at the harbor and/or in the middle of old town. The hotel rooms were spacious and elegant. The pool and spa areas were lovely as well. The staff was courteous and helpful, and the included breakfast was delicious. Would happily book again if I return to Ponta Delgada."
