Good stopover point

Well positioned and quiet location. The included breakfast had a good range of food but difficult to see with the table layout which tables were clear to use. Would have been useful to have instructions for the air con as it was very hot.

Great location

Right in the heart of Old Town Aachen, just a few meters to Van den Daele Cafe, cathedral, and the historic town hall. Well refurbished, nice staff, good breakfast buffet. Recommended.

The hotel is within the inner-city walking precinct and is challenging to reach by car. The gentleman who greeted us at reception was rather curt and untoward. I felt that I was an inconvenience rather than a guest. The room was smallish but clean with a view of the Cathedral and Rathaus. The city centre is very walkable from the hotel. The buffet breakfast offered a great selection of food both hot and cold. Would happily stay there again.

Enjoyed my stay but feel it needs updating

I stayed in this hotel a couple of times over the last 30 years.. location is fantastic, i find the service provided by the staff faultless, they are professional and will do what they can to assist. Breakfast is really good with loads of options. Rooms are good sized but no air con, so in hot weather you have to leave the window open... In summary, whilst this is not a negative review, it does feel like it needs updating in line with some of the other hotel chains in the locale

Superb location, great breakfast, medium comfort.

Location is as good as it gets. Service was on point. Efficient check-in and out. Rooms refurbished from last time I stayed there. A good attempt and in the right direction, however it could have been done better. Soundproofing is nonexistent, you can hear people in the hallway and from other nearby rooms. I got a room with no heating, could have had it slightly warmer for own comfort but bearable. Rooms are well sized, bathrooms are small. Breakfast is great, but here as well the room is kind of chilled as the main door is just around the corner, adding a cold brise to your meal. It is a good place to stay if the price is right, for me it was good value for money this time, although some constrains.

My main complaint is that the room was VERY hot and not equipped with any temperature control. Sleeping with the window opened was not possible because the area is lively (so noisy). On the other habd the hotel is located within walking distance from many restaurants, the cathedral... The room was otherwise nice, not the cleanest but I did not mind. The bed was comfortable enough. The bathroom is rather small, its cleanliness leaves something to be desired in places. The shower door had traces of mould, the drain was clogged and the towel rail was quite dusty. The breakfast is great though: loads of different breads, food, drinks (even vegetable milk), fruits, etc. Overall I had a decent stay, maybe it is just me but I would expect more from a 4-star hotel.
