"We know the hotel can't control the weather, but we were surprised by the lack of effort to offer some kid friendly activities with 4 straight days of rain. Other issues we encountered: 1) our shower looked like it was never cleaned. The same 2 pieces of hair were stuck on the tile when we arrived and left. Lots of mold too. 2) my husband took my tween daughters to the gym with him (since we were all going stir crazy from the 3rd straight day of rain!) They were rudely informed at the desk...

"I think of a Ritz Carlton as an over the top experience but I feel the Amelia Island Ritz is underwhelming. With all resort fees, parking cost etc., the nightly room charge was $1400. That is no food or activity charges. We were disappointed their “Salt” restaurant is closed on Sunday and Monday so did not get to eat there. Other eating options are fine but not special by any means."

"Location was great 2 blocks from the beach.. no beach views from the rooms tho. The breakfast was convenient and being able to rent the beach chairs. There was a bad odor in our room. The front desk was notified and I was told housekeeping would check into it. ( it smelled like vomit in the corner of the room) we came back and they room was cleaned but still had odor. We couldnt use the fridge due to it having a bad odor as well.. i dont know if it was a smell that lingered but it was also the...

"I’m gonna be real… I wouldn’t recommend this place unless it’s an emergency or you’re really on a budget. In my room, the only things that worked were the water and the AC. TV didn’t work, the floor felt sticky, and the place just looked worn out and not clean. Customer service was poor, no effort at all. And the area around it doesn’t feel safe either. I wouldn’t come back. Not recommended."

"Everything was excellent with the exception of the breakfast buffet considering the room rate. Sparse and cheap best describe the buffet which consisted of cold scrambled eggs, over cooked sausage patties and clumpy oatmeal. Only fruit offered were a few bananas and the bread selection was also limited. There were two waffle irons available but the crowd of people trying to cook something hot for their children made the wait too long. For a Marriott property I found this buffet substandard. ...
