"The room stunk terribly, the hall and stair well smelled like cat pee and mold. There were sketchy people in the parking lot late at night. Loud vehicles. Another huge red flag, was my parents key card also worked and opened our door at the other end of the hall. And vice versa. Don’t really want anyone coming into my room. Thought that was very sketchy as well "

"It was -12 on Portage Lake and we cranked the heat pump up to 75. The Birds Nest cabin needs another heat source. Upstairs was cold when we got back at 10:30 pm after leaving the heat on all day in the cabin.The two full size beds that are pictured is one that’s on the bottom of a metal bunk bed frame and the other is upstairs where the roof is pitched so one side has no head room to accommodate two grown adults.New owners shut the water off for the winter. Didn’t know that until the day we left to head up. The bath house was not private. One of the doors could not lock due to the door jam being broken. The soap dispenser dispensed little to no soap. I would not recommend staying at the Birds Neat in the winter if you need use of the upstairs for children. they will be cold. The beds upstairs are pretty much useless unless you’re a single sleeper. The other two singles are set up for young children who are still in danger of falling out of bed. The beds have boards on the sides that keep a person from rolling off."
