"We almost didn’t keep this reservation after having a pretty bad experience at an Extended Stay in another town the night before, but I’m glad we did. This location was so much better.
The hotel is definitely older and dated, but everything was clean, which makes a huge difference. The room was comfortable enough for our one-night stay, the refrigerator/freezer actually worked, and the amenities we expected were there and in good condition.
The mattress and pillows were still an issue for us. The mattress was very, very firm, and the pillows were once again extremely flat. Extended Stay may want to rethink the three-flat-pillow strategy, if only to preserve marital bliss. Maybe provide four pillows if they are going to be that flat.
Overall, though, this was a much better experience. It’s not a fancy or updated hotel, but it was clean, functional, and provided what we needed for a night on our road trip. After our experience at the previous location, we were very relieved and would stay at this Frederick location again."
