"Its a very traditional, older chalet and amenities are in line with older style places. The staff were faultless, helpful, courteous and tolerant of our coming and going. Its a hike to get there but the free railway, if you have the time, saves on cab fares. Food is fresh and its very popular for dinner with everyone in town and the views are terrific.. Thanks especially to Tebo for looking after us but they were all great. "

"Das Hotel ist ok. Sehr schöner Ausblick auf den See. Gute Parkplatz Möglichkeiten. Nahe Zentrum. Für 4 Sterne ist es aus meiner Sicht an der unteren Grenze. Frühstück -> Qualität vom Lachs hat mich nicht überzeugt. Unterhalt generell müsste besser sein. Es hat uns nicht aus den „Socken“ gehauen. Wir haben aber auch kein Trauma. Eben es ist einfach OK."

"Room was clean and pleasant. Air conditioning wasn’t very good and fans were needed and provided. Staff were helpful. Breakfast was expensive so we didn’t have it. Location was good, but more information from the hotel about location would have been helpful; it can be reached by walking along the train platform but we only found this out after we’d walked through the streets. Loved all the Freddie memorabilia!"

"Staff was extremely helpful in orienting us to the area and where free parking could be found. We we upgraded to a very nice lakefront room with a balcony. The buffet breakfast was also very nice. Beautiful sunset from the balcony."

"Die Lage befindet sich nah an den Ausflugszielen und auch die für Hotelgäste gratis Busverbindungen (Haltestelle direkt gegenüber des Eingangs) sind sehr positiv! Das Personal war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend! Das Zimmer ist zwar klein aber mit Getränken, Fernseh und Dusche sowie gutem Bett dem Preis entsprechend günstig! Das Restaurant hat zwar ein nur kleine Auswahl an Gerichten, dafür waren diese aber sehr schmackhaft. Insgesamt ein empfehlenswertes Hotel"

The rooms are in urgent need of refurbishment to meet the standards expected at the price they charge. Here are my main gripes; No bath robes (only slippers - why?) "J5 Helvetie is a lovely hotel. Our room was spacious and provided all the amenities needed. Staff is super friendly and helpful with navigating Montreux."

"The room that we booked was looking over a court yard. Wrong it overlooked a junk yard and onto the grotty balconies of the neighboring building. The room was small and heated up quickly to the point it became unbearable. Reception was a cheerful person, but played dumb when you asked about various things, no kindness! I would not recommend this accommodation to anyone."

"The hotel makes for a decent budget option. The rooms are a bit small but with the bunk bed so sleep four. If you have more than two large pieces of luggage space will be tight. The beds and pillows were on the hard side for our personal tastes but we sleept ok. It was rather warm during our stay, over 27 degrees C.
